Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
At Alzu we believe your workouts are your business. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app uses and what happens to it. The short version: your workout data stays on your iPhone and in your private iCloud, and we never see it.
1. Who we are
Guillermo Julian Gallego Gonzalez, an individual. Tax ID and address: to be published. Contact: soporte@alzu.app.
2. Data stored on your iPhone and in your iCloud
To build your plan and guide each session, the app stores on your device:
- Your questionnaire answers: goal, experience, training days and time, equipment and areas to protect.
- If you choose to provide them, your sex and year of birth. Both are optional.
- Your plan, workouts, sets, weights, reps, notes and records.
- Your settings: units, appearance and reminders.
- If you choose to log them, your body weight and waist measurement.
- How each workout went (Easy, Good or Hard). This is only used to avoid suggesting a heavier weight. If you check “Something hurt”, it's taken into account in that workout's summary and isn't stored.
- Your achievements and streak.
The widget and the Lock Screen countdown use this data on your iPhone.
Free week. The app stores a single number in your iPhone’s Keychain: how many free workouts you’ve done. It keeps your first free workouts from starting over if you reinstall the app, so it stays even if you delete the app or use “Delete my data”. It contains nothing else, isn’t copied to other devices and never reaches us.
This data is not sent to any server of ours; we don't have servers for it.
Copy in your iCloud. If you're signed in to iCloud on your iPhone, your plan, questionnaire answers, workouts, records, achievements and settings are also stored in your private iCloud (Apple's CloudKit), so you don't lose them when you switch iPhones. That space is yours: we can't see or access it, and Apple handles it under its own privacy policy. Body weight and waist are not copied: they stay only on your iPhone. “Delete my data” also deletes that copy, and you can turn it off in iPhone Settings > your name > iCloud. Separately, if you use iCloud Backup on your iPhone, Apple may include the app's data in it.
Apple Health. If you allow it, the app saves each finished workout (type, start and end) to the Health app on your iPhone and, if you also allow it, the body weight you log. On iPhone, the app does not read any Health data and never sends what it saves there anywhere; it doesn't use it for advertising either. You can remove the permission at any time in the Health app and turn it off in Alzu's settings; anything already saved stays in Health, where you can delete it.
Apple Watch. If you use Alzu on your watch, your workout travels between your iPhone and your watch without going through any server. With your permission, the watch starts a Health workout, and Health stores the heart rate and energy the watch measures. Alzu reads your heart rate only on the watch and only during the workout, to show it to you: it doesn't store it or send it anywhere.
3. Purchases and subscription
Purchases are made through Apple's App Store. To manage subscriptions we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier generated by the app, the purchase history provided by Apple and basic technical data about the device and the app (model, iOS version, app version, language, store country, a device identifier for this developer's apps and, as with any internet connection, the IP address). It does not receive your name, email or workout data. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
RevenueCat processes this data on our behalf as a data processor. The legal basis is the performance of the subscription contract and the steps you ask for before it (for example, seeing prices or checking whether you have an active subscription). RevenueCat, Inc. is based in the United States: the transfer relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, included in its data processing agreement. This data is kept as long as needed to manage your subscription and meet legal obligations, such as tax rules.
We never see your payment details: Apple handles them.
4. Notifications
If you allow them, the app schedules local notifications: end of rest, workout reminders and, if you turn it on, the weekly summary. They are created on your iPhone; we don't send you notifications from any server.
5. If you contact us
If you email us from “Send us feedback”, from subscription management or from this website, we receive your email address, your message and, if you write from the app, the technical details included in the template (iPhone model, iOS version, app version and language). We use them only to reply and improve the app. If you write to try the beta, we use your address only to send you the invite and what you need to know to test it. The legal basis is your consent when you write to us. Our email is provided by Apple’s iCloud Mail. We keep emails for 12 months after our last reply and then delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
6. This website
The alzu.app website uses no cookies, analytics or third-party services on its pages. It only stores the language you pick with the ES/EN button in your browser (in its local storage, not in a cookie), which you can clear in your browser settings. Because it is stored only because you asked for it, no consent or cookie banner is needed.
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), acting as our data processor. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical details of the visit (browser, page requested, date and time) to serve the site and protect it from attacks, and keeps them for a limited time under its own policy. We never see or store those logs, and we don’t use them for analytics or to identify you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and protected. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and its data processing agreement includes the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, which cover the transfer of that data to the United States. More in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
7. What we don't do
- No analytics, advertising or cross-app tracking.
- We don't sell or share your data.
- We don't ask you to create an account.
8. Your rights
Since your workout data lives only on your iPhone and in your iCloud, you can delete it anytime from Settings > “Delete my data” (except the free-workout count in the Keychain, explained in section 2). If you only delete the app, it is removed from your iPhone but the copy in your iCloud stays. Anything the app saved to Health is deleted from the Health app; if you delete a workout or a weight entry in Alzu, it is removed from Health too (as long as Alzu still has permission to write to Health; if you revoked it, delete it from Health). For any other request (access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction or portability regarding data we hold from an email), write to soporte@alzu.app. You can also file a complaint with your data protection authority.
9. Children
Alzu is not intended for children under 16.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
